Weddings
The Cheviot Church on the estate is a quaint country chapel to enhance the venue as an ideal wedding choice.
The Old Workshop and Fallen Tree function rooms cater for gatherings from two to 120 guests, and are ideal for any occasion, including weddings and conferences. The charming Broken Anvil Wine Cellar is available for private functions and parties.
Garden venue :
One of the many facilities at the Coach House which is ideal for weddings is the croquet lawn area, and the romantic gazebo next to it. The emerald green croquet lawn has a stunning view down the valley to farmlands and mountains beyond. Surrounded by the intensely colourful lush sub tropical hotel gardens and a stand of fragrant roses, this is a setting that is perfect both during the day and after dark, when it can be floodlit.
The gazebo is quaint and romantic. Perfect for the couple and the minister conducting the ceremony, as they would be elevated from the wedding guests seated on the croquet lawn. It can easily be decorated with sheer drapes of fabric for a dramatic effect. The croquet lawn is situated away from the main buildings of the hotel, and is flanked on one side with a paved parking area that leads to some of the rooms.
Function rooms :
1. The Fallen Tree
The main indoor wedding venue, “The Fallen Tree” is on the upper level of a two storey building, with a balcony running along one side with a breathtaking view of the valleys and farmlands. Access is from a wooden walkway leading from the car park directly into the room, so no steps to climb!
The Fallen Tree is so named for a huge blue gum tree that toppled over a few years ago, the remaining stump which lies to the one side of the garden that is adjacent to the entrance, suitably incorporated into a lush and colourful landscape feature.
The room dimensions are 17m x 11m, with an unusual split ceiling, innovative lighting and beautiful fresh primrose yellow furnishings. These combine to create a special atmosphere and mood for a celebration function like a wedding.
“The Fallen Tree” can accommodate 100 people with enough space for a dance floor. If more tables are needed the dance floor becomes smaller.
2. The Old Workshop
This is a smaller room for intimate wedding gatherings, and can accommodate up to 30 guests for a private dinner or function. The room dimensions are 6m x 8.5m.
